The Belk project occurs along an east-west mineralized structural and alteration trend north of and parallel to the Haile deposit of Romarco. It lies just east of Lancaster, SC. Firebird has acquired seven tracts and a total of 600 acres to date that encompass the historic resource defined by the Brewer Gold Mine at the Belk. Negotiations for additional land to further extend the potential target are in progress Westmont had received a mining permit from the state of South Carolina to mine the Belk deposit. Their historic resource estimate was over 20,000 ounces at a grade of 0.057 opt gold. Firebird knows this deposit is under drilled at current gold prices and potential is excellent to expand the resource. Similar ore controls to Haile including lithology, alteration and structure exist on this trend.
Firebird continues to pursue additional targets on the Ridgeway-Haile-Brewer trend of gold mineralization and is aggressively moving forward in discussions with other landowners. These targets are all in areas of prior historic drilling with positive exploration results.
